Milked by hand 2x a day from the end of Feb. - Dec.
We graze our goats and sheep on our farm, moving them everyday with the use of electric fencing to ensure that they and the ground are getting the nutrition they need to thrive. The goats get a small amount of non-GMO barley when we milk and in the winter, while we have no grass, they are fed high quality hay. |

Icelandic sheep have been on my list of wants for a long time. We were finally able to add them to the farm in the summer of 2022. I have really enjoyed having them and am excited for the lamb and wool products we will be able to provide to our community and our family.

1 Sow 1 Boar
We have raised pigs for ourselves for a few years now and decided this year that we were going to try raising a litter of piglets in 2023. We had no intention of purchasing a boar but our plans got changed and we ended up acquiring this lovely boar from 'Texas Ridge' a farm a few hours from us. I am very excited to see what having piglets will be like.

Our egg layers are a variety of differing breeds simply because I like looking at my flock and seeing lots of colors. We do not currently sell eggs.
Our Meat birds - I will not raise Cornish cross meat birds. I understand all the reasons why people do, they are fast growing and cheap to purchase as chicks. They however do not line up with our farm standards. I have been experimenting with a few different heritage meat breeds and so far my favorite is the Bresse Chicken. We will have butchered Bresse meat birds for sale in 2023 and I will probably do some more trials with a few other breeds as well.

We have tried many duck breeds over the years and my favorite by far is the Muscovy duck. They are quiet, grow fairly well, and are so much fun to watch.

Rhindon is our current LGD. She will be turning 1 in Jan of 2023. I have loved having her. She has been everything I was hoping for. She still has some growing up to do but she is already a huge asset to our farm. We have a lot of predators on our farm, the worst being coyotes, but we also have bear, cougar, wolves, and aerial predators. She sticks with the herd, does not bark excessively, is wary of strangers but adores our kids. If she continues to show exceptionally good traits I plan to breed her.
